In 1919, the Radonich Family, recent immigrants from Croatia, purchased a fruit ranch in the Santa Cruz Mountains, above Los Gatos. The working farm produced Apples, Pears, Prunes, as well as grapes.
Located at an elevation of 2000 feet, the site of the Ranch eventually fell within the boundaries of the Santa Cruz Mountains AVA. Third Generation Brothers, Brad and Randy Radonich always had a desire to preserve and continue the history of farming on the ranch.
In 2007, they established Radonich Brothers Vineyards and Winery on the land that had been In their family for over 100 years. They have planted Pinot Noir grapevines in 2007, Chardonnay vines in 2015, and Zinfandel grapevines in 2016.
The harvest of these estate grapevines produce fine wines that reflects the special characteristic’s of the Santa Cruz Mountains, AVA. With help from the next generation, Radonich Brothers Vineyards hope to continue on for another 100 years.
